Many thanks t everyone who planned and participated in the Haiti Jam, Saturday, August 9. We raised $2042.00 for Haiti. Congratulations to the winner of the iPod touch raffle, Katie Green!
REQUEST FROM FATHER JACQUET
We recently received a call from Fr. Jacquet requesting financial help with the renovation for the church in St. Jean. The church will be 100 years old in 2010 and was in need of significant repairs. Fr. Jacquet had planned to do some of the work, it was determined that there was major structural work that could not be put off to a later date. The work was completed just in time for the celebration of the parish's feast day, the Feast of St. John the Baptist. The end result was that the work that the parishioners could not do on their own cost $17,000 which was $4000 more than Father had been able to raise. Therefore, he is asking for our help in making up the shortfall in funds. If you would like to help, please place your contribution in the collection or send it to the rectory. Be sure to indicate that it is for the church renovation. Thank you for your continued support of our twin parish in St. Jean du Sud, Haiti!
